People who preorder are a tiny portion of the video games market. I agree it does not matter for those who preorder, or for fanboys, but for that gigantic portion that remains it does matter.

The second half sounds like wishful thinking more than anything.

But the only people that follow news like this are people that have already made up there minds on what they are going to buy and have already preorded. I think very few people's choice of system will be swayed at this point. The large portion of the video game community you refer to aren't even going to hear about things like this, or propaply wont even realize the diffrence.
