No matter what side you're on, Sony is the king of commercials and that goes all the way back to the 90's. Kevin Butler pretty much brought the PS3 back to life by himself.

The general consensus on the net is that Microsoft is far better at marketing.

Clearly you either don't remember the PS1/PS2 days, or your biased because NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING was hyped and advertised as well as the PS2 leading up to it's launch. Everyone and their unborn child knew what it was and wanted one.

Plus, like I said...Kevin Butler. Dude was so amazing, his character even made it to an E3 presentation.

Can you link me to one of these awesome PS2 ads?  I was going crazy trying to get a PS2 on day one and couldn't because it was so in demand but, for the life of me, I can't remember any PS2 ad ever being on TV except for an obscure Playstation 9 ( I think that was the number) ad during pro wrestling.  If I recall, the PS2's launch was hyped by the gaming community, demo consoles, and magazines at the time.

No look flaming cross bow shot.

I'm pretty sure that's a Playstation 3 ad and not a Playstation 2 ad.  Then again, I am pretty drunk right now.

Oh, you only wanted a PS2 ad? Sorry, I must has misunderstood what you said. There's a bunch of great PS2 ads though as well. Those Rachet And Clank ads were awesome etc. But what I was talking about as far as the PS2 era was how Sony was able to use ads to hype up the PS2 before launch. I remember seeing a 10 minute ad before a movie in a MOVIE THEATER about a month before launch lol. It was on the cover of everything magazine, IN every magazine, on TV every 20 min....Sony just knocked it out of the park as far as demonstrating how to properly advertise a console.
