I don't want to sound mean, but this very popular question doesn't make even one bit of sense to me. No single person can tell you if you should buy one except you. I have a Wii U and love it, but that has absolutely no bearing on whether you'll like it too.
Take a look at the games that have been released for it and will be released in the near future. Do those look like games you want to play? Then yes, you should get a Wii U. Do they look like games you could live without? Then I think you know what the answer is.
Again, I don't want to come off as a jerk or anything. It's just that I hear this so much and I don't understand it. It's like asking other people what kind of birthday cake you should get. It's completely up to your tastes.
