The Wii was profitable on day 1...the 3Ds has been profitable since last year esp with the XL http://www.shacknews.com/article/74978/nintendo-posts-large-q1-loss-but-3ds-now-profitable http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/07/25/nintendo-3ds-now-sold-at-a-profit-unit-sales-up-162/ and Wii U while selling for a loss shouldn't be as bad as how PS360 were selling at a loss early in their lifetime.
