Who is going to buy the console other than hardcore Nintendo fans?

No sports games and no decent online community/games for so called "dudebros"

Casual aren't paying $300 just play a new Wii Sports or Wii Fit

The graphics are a little better than current gen, it lacks decent built in storage, (that's an extra $50-70 if you want to download anything) the online play isn't up to snuff, it lacks 3rd party support, it doesn't have DVD/Blu-ray playback, and it lacks a value system like PS Plus or Games for Gold.

Why would anyone (other than Nintendo die-hards) buy this console over the four that will be available this holiday? The value just isn't there.

Wow!! I am impressed. Someone who knocks the wii u console with style. Well done.

But you answered the question in your very first sentence.  Pretty much forget about the casuals. Those that got caught up in the wii hype are long gone.

I said it before and I say it again, Nintendo fans is what will keep the wii u alive and the hope is that Nintendo can maintain the ones they got now and find a whole lot of new ones. I believe this can be accomplished if Nintendo fans and Nintendo themselves are realistic with their expectations regarding the lifetime wii u sales figures.

It doesn't have to match the PS4 in sales, it just have to sell enough to sustain itself ( that means ultimately not taking a lost ).

Every single point you made is pretty valid if you do a flat comparison between the systems. But Nintendo can really never be compare that way both with the wii or now the wii u.

It's a system pretty much in it's own bubble. You either want to play what they produce or you don't. The trick is getting enough customers that do.

In your other posts regarding marketing I agree.

I think what you're saying maybe true, only if they can get the first party titles out on time. I think not having Mario Kart or DK out this holiday is going to hurt.

Lol I bought one at launch hoping to play some first party games relatively early in it's life cycle. Almost a year later, nothing has really piqued my interest, other than X and Smash. (coming out mid-late next year)

I might pick up 3D World next month though.
