Knack is pretty much the only family game at release of both consoles. Well, families can also play Forza or something like that but that's not really a family game. But this holiday isn't really for families, it's more for tech enthusiasts and the hardcore fans. Even if they have some kids they will probably not decide for one console because of one family game.
The PS4 would sell the same amount this holiday season if they would have another not so family friendly game instead of Knack so that it doesn't really change much. Interesting will be holiday 2014 or 2015. Sony will bundle Knack and maybe something else they will have then. And Microsoft will bundle Kinect Sports Rivals and maybe a dance game or something like that.
