I disagree. This site was full of psoters claiming 3, 4 and 5 to 1 in sales ratios, domination, wiping the floor with etc etc.  it was common place.  The we had silly polls from around the web where it was 9 to 1 and people immediately translated this to sales and declared it a walkover before they even hit the street.  Please dont try and deny this happened.  Its not that long ago.

Yes if MS continued with DRM it would have been a lot worse... they changed it because they were getting screwed.. it probably was 4:1 or higher,... not sure what you are getting at... it would have been domination. It wasnt that long ago, you are right, but your argument that Sony were not wiping the floor is very weak.. MS changed because their pre-orders were shite.. I don't think anyone can argue that.

Even now I can see perhaps it going down to say 2:1, thats still a massive difference in sales numbers if it keeps like that.

Sony did have a core group who were prepared to buy the console at launch, I certainly wasnt one of them. This gen what with power/cost and launching at the same time, there is no doubt that Sony is in the stronger position. I dont mean for the first three months but in terms of opening up and increasing the gap over time. Sony have fixed the main issues that prevented their console doing well to begin with. I think the landscape is going to be different this time around.
