I think it's quite the big deal, especially the US gap growing closer. People don't realize how close Sony is to taking the industry back to Ps2 level domination. Slowly but surely, inch by inch, Sony is gaining ground in the US. They already have a strong grip on Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world.

To Ps2 levels? No. It's very unlikely. Companies these days (Microsoft and Sony) are too experienced to let their marketshare lower that much. However, the Ps4 is creeper towards a Global lead in marketshare. It might not get to Ps2 level, but it will get to the top, count on it.

Agreed I can see Sony holding the global marketshare at first, but who knows how 2014 and up will play out.
