it is. everything they do they are testing for the future.  My theory is that a dedicated home console for them is a risky, high stakes, zero sum game for the for the most part. Handhelds by themselves are getting riskier to launch and maintain for the most part as well. But if they could combine the two into a fantastic all-purpose device, then at least they could count on one superstrong revenue stream, instead of  two possibly subpar ones. Then as well, that helps explain why they are not interested in the high tech war. If they want to combine the two devices into one next gen, they have to keep them in the same ballpark graphics and technology wise. All this shit they have been doing that just seems like they are dicking around, stuff like transporting miis and dabbling in connectivity, it is all just a means to an end.
