Not because it's a bad game, but i despise the fact that MS basically bought the 2 best things japan has to offer as far as games are concerned. Sakaguchi for his creative ideas and Nobou for his music. Had sony or nintendo done this id be somewhat more understanding as their consoles have other good rpg's to compliment the "AAA" one's that mistwalker will create. Flame sheield up... |
I'm not sure I understand your logic. The 360 right now has what is pretty much unarguably the best RPG line up on the 3 consoles. And that's not likely to change until some of the PS3's big hitters like FFXIII comes out. But either way, the 360 is now a proven RPG system, so it's a bit unfair to say that.
As far as buying Sakaguchi, the man was thrown out by Square (for his financial debacle Spirits Within). In Japanese business culture, a fuck up like that generally gets you black listed, and if your a senior guy like he was, a desk job with no power until retirement. The guy wanted to make games, MS funding made it possible. It's not MS's fault Sony and Nintendo didn't actively pursue the guy. As far as Nobuo Uematsu goes, he's worked with Sakaguchi for decades, it's no surprise he's chosen to continue working with him. Plus, isn't he still technically at Square-Enix?
