That's a good question, and I'm on the fence regarding this.

I'm aware that 500GBs probably won't be enough, definitely not if I would want to have a lot of PS+ games on my HDD. My stock 120GB PS3 HDD wasn't enough even without PS+ games. So I could replace the 500GB stock out of the gate, I would probably go for a 1TB hybrid drive, or 7200RPM HDD 1 - 1,5 TB. SSD is out of question right now, because of the price.
On the other hand, SSD's prices are going down on a fairly steady rate, so maybe if I would wait until the 500GBs stock HDD would fill up, I would be able to afford a 1TB SSD, which I would easily want the most out of my options.
I'm leaning towards the second way right now, but we'll see what happens.
