5.5m WW opening for Pokemon XY. Is that possible? Ninty says NO

Hello Gamrconnect,

VGC just said that Pokemon XY hit 5.5m over release. With the UK opening between 120 and 160K and only 400K preorders in the US, I fail to see the logic behind this figure, unless the Japanese bought 3 or 4 millions.

What do you think?
