The thing that always gets me is in the 90s several hand helds flopped and Nintendo seemed set to just let GameBoy die out. Pokemon showed once and for all the value of software. After my old GameBoy collected dust for years it became my primary system thanks to school yard craze of Red and Blue.
I think Nintendo is the only company that will be able to weather changing markets because it learned value of its IPs and why Pokemon has never had a full fledged console release, it makes people buy their latest hand held.
Very excited to play my copy, which I hope will arrive by Tuesday in the mail as even as long time player X Y is the most excited I have been about the series since Ruby Sapphire release.
