-more comftorible
-better battery life
-comes with more memory I beleive
-bigger screen, much bigger.
-stylus in better spot
-satin finish inside, less glare
i highly recommend the XL, in the long run these advantages are things you wish you had with a normal 3ds. the normal 3ds is more portable though, and has more colors to choose from. The audio on the xl is pretty good too, it is louder then my vita
