Having diplomatic relations with countries who are trying to act tough and hostile towards you is what a President is supposed to do. Whether we're talking North Korea, or Iran, or whoever. That is why diplomats and diplomacy exists in a modern and allegedly civilized world.
Also, Israel would be 100% fucked if the US severed ties with them. They'd sure as shit miss that, what is it? 1 billion a year or whatever in aid that we give them? The only reason Israel acts so tough against (all of) their neighbors, is because of their connection to us. They are literally the big mouthed little runt who talks shit to everyone because they're friends with the biggest kid in school.
