It plays like shit on large fates in Coerthas and North Thanalan but everything else is good. All end game dungeons and instances play fine because it's a controlled environment with a limited number of players/mobs on screen. The large fates are only an issue because you could have 100 or more players in the same fate on screen and get terrible lag with mobs not appearing etc.  Everything else is perfectly playable, especially if you have a USB keyboard like me.

I have an excellent internet connection and suffer tremendous 'lag' from low level fates. Switching targets as a tank with ds3 is a bitch and overall control is much much worse when playing with ds3. Don't get me wrong, i really enjoy the game but there is a reason the PC version suddenly enters that chart and the Ps3 version does not.
