It depends on the review scale. If my scale puts high quality but not quite top tier games at a 10/10 then it has to reflect that in my other scores and smash should absolutely get a 10/10.
If I give those same high quality games a 5/10 on my scale then I could see smash getting a 8.9/10.
Its the exact same concept as any other form of measurement. If I want to measure the temperature I have to know what system of units I'm dealing with or the number is meaningless. And without a lengthy understanding of a site's review history you simply don't get that..which is again why I hate reveiw scores and people who put all their stock in them. And yes, all of the consoles have games that get shafted and games that get the royal treatment unduly.
I actually think Smash gets that Royal treatment but I'd be kidding myself to not acknowledge that it deserves a lot of it....I'm just not sold on the idea that it deserves all of it.
