I don't know how to feel.
The game has a sluggish feeling, much like previous Battlefield titles. It's a bit too slow, and the map was way too big. I was in a match on that one big map and there were only 2 enemies on the other team. It could just be server issues, but there's more.
The texture pop-in was atrocious. Actually, there was a part when I was standing and a bench popped in when I was two feet away and I ran into it and got gunned down. I also noticed some screen tearing. The map was bland too, it had no remarkable locations so I would remember where I was going, it just all looked like buildings to me. The only thing I enjoyed about playing was using my parachute and parkouring over benches, etc. It made me just want to go and play some Mirror's Edge.
Not to mention the gameplay was as basic as it gets. Simple mechanics such as "Run and shoot" can be applied here. People praise battlefield because it is some sort of "realistic strategic shooter" but in my eyes it's just another shooter. I went 10-1 on a match playing the objective by running around and aiming and shooting, none of it felt strategic or realistic. The vehicle driving felt way too imprecise, it was slippery yet it felt really tight, it was extremely hard to get used to.
However, the game was fun at some points. When I got into a game with my friends it was a pretty good time, but then again, it was mostly because we were diving off buildings and firing random bullets and just being purposefully bad at the game.
I don't know if I can judge it because it's a beta, but as of now the game is about a 6/10. It's an uninspired and unpolished game, but we'll see how the final product stacks up. Again, all these problems I'm having could be due to the servers, but still in terms of gameplay that would only boost it to a 7/10.
