Still not seeing how the Vita is dying.

Ask youreself, is Sony giving the Vita the attention of what Nintendo is doing for the 3DS?

What does the 3DS have to do with my question?

Everything.

What are Sony's plans for the Vita beyond 2013?

A handful of niche games (literally) that won't do anything to boost sales.

What 1st party software from Sony (assuming you don't have one) would drive you to purchase a Vita in the forseeable future?

Nintendo is the driving force behind all of their hardware, so when I bring up the level of attention Nintendo gives to the 3DS and is Sony even doing a fraction of that for the Vita. It's on its death knell.

A glorified controller that occasionally plays niche titles and a random indie game here and there does not a dedicated handheld make, especially one made in Japan. 2DS and Pokemon are nails in that coffin.

Whatever. we all know that 3DS will lead but we don't give a shit, really. At least Japan has a couple big titles for next year like SS: Delta and Freedom Wars so far.

Besides, Vita is getting God Eater 2 and Phantasy Star Nova. While no "Pokémon", God Eater, God Eater Burst, Phantasy Star Portable and Phantasy Star Portable 2 where the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th best selling games in Japan for PSP that were not Monster Hunter or Final Fantasy-related. All of them far above any Sony offering for the console. There is also FFX and X-2 HD, that while not "new" titles, should sell well.

It is not that Vita is getting nothing at all from Sony while PSP got everything (talking about Japan). Sony hardly published system sellers on PSP and the same keeps valid for Vita. At least they are constantly making new, original and interesting games for Vita (Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars) that is much more effort than what Nintendo does, as the latter sits over franchises that are meant to be a huge success without much effort. If they don't screw up, many of their games will sell millions only based on the IP.

I am not considering the west because it is obvious that Nintendo is not pushing for any games with the west in mind for 3DS. It just happen that many of their huge franchises in Japan also appeal to the west, so they don't need to push for things like Uncharted and Killzone.
