If it was a matter of simple economics, that might be the case. However, there is more at play than a simple numbers game. The console industry has undergone a massive shift over the past 10 years, and many of the factors that led to the Gamecube's underwhelming performance don't apply here. Also, I'm not overly fond of your patronizing tone. |
The console industry hasn't changed a whole lot, it will always be the games that sell the hardware and the WII U hasn't proven anything so far like the WII did. Your overcomplicating the factors when the simple answer is that nintendo opted for red ocean instead of blue ocean. BTW I despise the shit out of gamecube and dreamcast together since their god awful consoles that nobody would own seeing as how everbody voted the PS2 with their wallets and if those consoles were good then why on earth did they get rejected so harshly ?
