Really? I haven't seen a single poll that suggests that the Republicans will come out of this mess looking better than Obama or Reid.

Are Americans going to lose faith in the government as a whole? Hell yes. But only the R's are going to come out of this really hurting.

I don't see why they would. The President takes the brunt of the blame and I don't see how much lower opinion of the Democrats can fall. Of course, those who always blame Republicans will still do and vice versa.

Republicans took the blunt of the blame under Clinton... and that was back when the media wasn't picking sides or pushing blame.

Also by not raising the debt limit by the way.  Nobody made such a big deal about it back then though.

and back then the Republican's demands were much less.

 

This is basically the '95 Shutdown all over again... but with less popular republicans and more media blame.
