Yup, without our research the launch of any kind of rocket would have been delayed by at least 20-30 yrs. Maybe even more. A feat to be proud of, unlike the means by which it was achieved :(

OT: Some people who take great pride in their possessions need to find a way to express it and put others down. I grew up in a society that puts a ridiculous amount of value in the shoes you have on your feet and name brand clothing. It's silly when you think about it, but this is how some folks express themselves.
