The console wars - when rival console fan trys to tell you what is a real dedicated server and what's a fake dedicated server

Actually take a gander at the GAF thread on this, seems everyone enjoys correcting GG not just those of the rival team variety.

GG has been saying some Ken Kuturagi level lulz shit lately.

Like what?

They also said that a game with a solid 60FPS framerate isn't actually better than having the same game that manages to reach 60FPS a lot of the time but also has drops in framerate.

Here's the exact quote from them:

"So, having a constant 60 is not actually better than having a 'lot of the time' 60. It sounds weird, but it's actually true."

They also seem to think that people wouldn't be able to notice large framerate drops in their game without Digital Foundry telling them:

"And I challenge anybody to notice, without Digital Foundry looking at it, that there are large drops."

That's just from one interview with them...

You forgot this part:

"Because usually in the moments where we're going to drop framerate, either you're already dead or it's too late anyway."

I don't know, sounds kind of important for the point they're making.

What is wrong with that second quote? It's a challenge, are you up for it?

It's hilarious that this is called Ken Kutaragi level lulz shit.

How is it important to the claim that 60FPS isn't better than 60FPS with framerate drops.  Even if the character is dead or near death 90% of the time it wouldn't make his original claim true.

As for the second claim he's basically trying to put large framerate drops in the same class as pixel counting which is ridiculous.  It doesn't take a website like Digital Foundry to point out large framerate drops for people to see them.

I think some of us just find GG annoying because they'll say the most ridiculous things in order to avoid bad press.  They could have just said "We're aiming for a stable 60FPS and even if we don't achieve it the framerate will still be really good." and it would have been cool instead of making the claims they made.
