Not sure if the half assed "ports" excuse is enough to justify the poor sales of third party games on the Wii U. The PS3 has its fair share of shoddy ports (this is definitely most apparent during the first few years of the 7th gen and it still gets a few today, SRIV anyone?), but sells relatively well and goes inline with the 360 versions of the games. I really just think that there isn't much of an audience for them on Nintendo home consoles. ~ For whatever reason.
If you want to play the games just buy them.. the publishers+devs will thank you for it. Honestly, it's better than not having any choice in the matter.
