I think it's 500 dollar price tag is going to hurt it like it did the PS3 initially. I'd be in favor of the x1's philosophy of kinect + weaker console, vs stronger console if the price tag difference wasn't 100 bucks for a weaker console.
I think including kinect is a good idea, as it separates itself, especially to more casual crowds and since everyone is forced to have it you have opportunities for games like wii-fit, wii sports, etc.
A lot of those extra media features current consoles already have, and people already have. They've improved it for certain.
