So AMD on console hardware, Nvidia on PC eh.

Wonder what it'll be for the next handhelds (if they continue to exist that is)

The answer is powerVR graphics chip I believe.

Well. PowerVR and Adreno anyway, nVidia is making a big assault too on mobile!
I personally think AMD was silly to sell Adreno (Re-arrange the letters and it spells out Radeon!) to Qualcomm, they have a fairly chunky market share now.

nVidia however is planning to license out it's graphics technology for manufacturers to build GPU's around, much akin to how ARM will license out it's CPU technology for manufacturers to build processors from, so nVidia actually has a strong position to push out PowerVR and Adreno from the market (Especially high-end) if all the cards fall into the right place.

Actually selling Adreno (which is an anagram for radeon) was a smart idea seeing as how AMD didn't have an ARM liscense at the time plus they were dealing with loss after loss each quarter so yeah.

@Bold You know that PowerVR and Adreno has been doing this for ages so what offerings do nvidia have to them plus we all know that nvidia will overcharge it's graphics IP's just like they do for everything else. BTW nvidia won't be pushing out adreno anytime soon seeing as how it's parent qualcomm is f#cking ten times more huge than nvidia.
