It lacks some of the feedback from the sticks, but they might be able to compensate somewhat with haptic feedback. The other significant difference is distance, since you have to move your fingers farther from their starting point on a touchpad than you do a stick.

i also see some problems in how your thumb feels due to the friction after long input intensive gaming sessions. maybe one stick and one touchpad would have been a better choice but then it also would not have been so left-hander friendly. let's see...


Possibly, though that has more to do with the texture of the pad than anything else. It'll probably be something one needs to try out to get a real feeling for.
