Why exactly doesn't Sony drop the price of Vita memory cards?

If you are able to produce enough of it and find the right factory, you will probably be able to produce it quite cheap, actually (much cheaper, considering many costs of popular products are actually advertising...hence why in store brands are way cheaper yet still make higher margins)

What?  Of course it's more expensive per unit to manufacture a few than it is to manufacture a high amount.  How is that even a question?  The amount of Vita memory cards being made is a drop in the bucket compared to mass market brands, the per unit manufacturing cost won't even be close.  The more atypical the specialty product, the more expensive the manufacturing setup and materials costs.  Go order 100 units of a specialty product then order 10 units, see with costs the most per individual item.  It's practically impossible for Vita memory cards not to be dramatically more expensive per unit than standard models.

I'm saying if there were third parties producing them (even if it was the same amount or less), they would be able to charge drastically less than Sony does. Production cost is only a portion of the cost seen in an item.
