It was because of 3D.

As I said they all where, and that might even include Monster Hunter 3G & 4 which where both being made in 2010 like Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D & Mega Man Legends 3 (canceled, unless that new Mega Man game they mentioned turns out to be this uncancel, since the prequel was finish and the retail game was already 29% developed) & Resident Evil: Revelations & Super Street Fighter 4 3D edition & Tales of the Abyss 3D & etc.

I never said every 3DS is because of 3D, but so many of the good ones where. And even the guarantee ones like Mario Kart 7 & Pokémon X & Y wouldn't have such great new gameplay mechanics without 3D to inspire them to really come up with some cool ideas since its being played in 3D.

He never says the game wouldnt be made without 3D. He says he was excited about 3D and it played a role. He never says if it werent for 3D this game wouldnt be made.

But he also says that he thought of how a Kingdom Hearts game would look like in 3D and that is why he started working on Kingdom Hearts 3D. (his statement)
