Many people to this day beileve the U is weaker than 360/PS3. Actually making it weaker would leave it in the same place that is today. Lesser ports of current gen games + Ninty exclusives. Now assuming Ninty researched into making the system as powerful(as people suggested by dropping the pad) or more powerful than PS4 the result would be people saying Nintendo doesnt have games and they would rather game on X1 or Ps4 cause of their exclusives. U would outshine both X1 and PS4 in all aspects of the graphical area of gaming but people would stick with PS4/X1 because they would then say its all about the software/exclusives/what their friends have for their system of choice.
It again comes back to software. The reason the U hasent set the gaming world ablaze is that it (and none of the upcoming systems) has not caught the mass publics eye. Release a Zelda, Kart and whatnot and it will be fine. Same for PS with GOW or GT and MS with GOW or Halo.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
