I think you should play the PS2 version (dirt cheap now) while waiting for the VITA TV. Both versions are awesome and you'll enjoy P4G just as much after playing P4. I played pretty much every iteration of P3 and P4. Original P3, P3:FES, P3P, P4 and P4G (also P4A) and I enjoyed each and every single one of them.

Persona 4 without the Golden content is like...a cake without filling. Don't do it Basil!
