WiiU hardware sales seem to have gotten a pretty good boost with the price cut + WW HD bundle.

There's zero benefit to a console being smaller than a PS2 (original) or even an NES size is more than acceptable.

To be honest I think the XBox 360 Slim is a fine size also.

They should've just gone with a 50-60 watt console with a reasonable sized casing and used a more off-the-shelf but modern AMD GPU and blown the PS3/360 out of the water. No one cares about electrical consumption as long as its not ridiculous. 

Spending all that time, R&D, and hardware budget on making the console as small as possible for day 1 and at such a low power draw is giving into bizarre design fetishes rather than giving the consumer something that actually want.
