That's a misconception that pervades the internet apparently^ It well outpaces last generation. If it didnt the quick and dirty ports would look even worse. Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper is a literal code dump ( absolutely nothing was done with it)

Thats the worst a WiiU game will get.

The WiiU's price is what it is because of how they built it, its an extremely compact, customized design, shit they even went with their method of storage, because it creates less heat and draws less power, with a significantly lower fail rate than other types of memory.

It's too bad no consumer really cares about any of this. It's a home console, not a handheld. Whatever power savings the console makes is probably undone by the fact that the controller needs to be constantly recharged every 3 hours of play.

To be honest it's not even *that* quiet, it's about the same as the PS3 Slim from my experience.

They should've just made a console about the size of an NES (seriously, what's wrong with that?) and made sure the chip was (way) better than the PS3/360 rather than worrying about power consumption. You can bring down the size/power consumption of a console over time.

Spending so much R&D and making the system more expensive than need be for an obsession about low power draw ... honestly who cares if the system draws 60 watts instead of 33 watts? Not even Japan cares.
