When the 360 first came out a guy I worked with grabbed one right away and a bunch of us grabbed all our Xbox games and took them over to play games all night and guess what.... none of them worked. Then we kept looking at the new games they made backwards compatable and they were almost no big titles. I still havnt got a 360 and that is one of the huge reasons why.
I have two rooms in my house for gaming. Living room and a seperate room dedicated to games. I found that the backwards compatibilty was greatly appreciated in both the PS3 and Wii even though i still own both the GC and PS2. The rare times I can get my Fiance to game with me she doesnt want to sit in my game room with me. She wants to play on the big screen in the living room so i found that i could hook up the PS3 and Wii in the main room to get 5 systems (not including Virtual Console) libraries available rather then just one. Very handy.
I love that they are still supporting the PS2. I hate in the past when i couldn't quite afford to upgrade to the newest system in the first couple years that i didn't have anything new coming to the console i still owned and enjoyed. I dont have the financial problem anymore but i still appreciate good new titles regardless of what system they are for.
