People who still think smart devices have no or only minimal impact on the handheld gaming business are completely in denial.
Next time you're in any large airport and sitting in the waiting area have a look at what kids are actually playing, the amount of them using their own or their parents' smart devices outnumbers dedicated handheld devices easily.
Even the 3DS is going to sell nowhere close to the DS. And it was only $250 for a few months, and the 3D can be turned off any time, so I don't buy either of those excuses.
The PSP sold great at $250 for quite some time when it launched, so it's not like you can't sell a gaming handheld at that price either.
