La-Mulana 2 announced for 2014 release on PC

La-Mulana 2 was announced during TGS 2013 today for PC, Joystiq reports. The team on the ground took a shot of the logo, and says the game will star the daughter of Lemeza Kosugi – the original’s protagonist. A short gameplay video was shown by Nigoro’s Takumi Naramura, showing a bit of a Norse themed world. The game is slated for release in 2014.

Valve to make the first of three announcements Monday on Steam’s living room expansion

Valve has announced that next week it will be “talking about the steps” its taking to make Steam more accessible on televisions and in the living room.

According to the firm, it has three announcements to make beginning with the first one on Monday morning.

The announcements will be posted here.

The splash pages says: “The Steam Universe is Expanding in 2014,” so expect something interesting.

Gabe Newell said earlier this week at Linuxcon 2013 that announcements would be coming, so the notice today backs his comments up.

During the event, Newell said Valve was looking to the more open platform of Linux as the future of gaming, as “none of the propriety closed platforms are going to be able to provide,” a grand unification between “mobile, the living room, and the desktop.”

“Next week we’re going to be rolling out more information about how we get there and what are the hardware opportunities that we see for bringing Linux into the living room and potentially pointing further down the road to how we can get it even more unified with mobile,” he said.

In other words, watch this space on Monday, September 23.

Whilst I generally hate announcements of announcements, I'm looking forward to see what Valve have up their sleeves.
