It's not that simple, regional and world powers violate borders quite frequently. It's Columbia pulling it's unilateral military action against terrorism card.

  • The US and Russia go into other countries all the time.
  • UN norms of international law have shown that they won't act when incursions are done in the name of (edit: anti-)terrorism.
  • The UK, Germany and the US all backed Isreal when they bombed Beruit.
  • Turkey is currently deployed in Northern Iraq fighting Kurdish Rebel-Terrorists.
  • African Union deployed in Sudan against the will of the Sudanese Gov't.
Will it be a traditional war? Probably not, but will it lead to more Ecuadorian and Venezuelan support for rebels? Most definitely.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
