Unfortunately it looks to me like hardcore/dude bros. gamers are the ones that most enthusiastically will accept new IP. Titanfall is probably going to be a big hit for example. Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, Gears of War, Red Dead Revolver, The Last Of Us (sequel is inevitable), etc. are other new IP that have become hits this gen.

But kids don't seem to be interested in things like Wonderful 101, Little Big Planet Karting, Puppeteer, or even Rayman. It's gotta be an established popular kids brand to sell it seems.

Skylanders. We've been over this before. Spyro was a trojan horse at best, and clearly unnecessary or else he would have remained more prominent going forward.
