The US would not even need to place troops in Iran, they would be dropping 100k bombs on this country during an opening attack. The country would be nothing.

It is a surprise that Iran is still around right now, they have caused so many problems with the war in Iraq. They have kidnapped British soldiers, they have supplied weapons to insurgents and provide traning fro fighters going to attack US bases in Iraq. Not only that they have came within short distances of US boats in the Mideast waters. The order to kill the boats was given just seconds after the boats left the waters.

Iran is also causing problems with Israel, saying that the holocaust never happened and threatening to wipe every Jewish person from the face of the planet.

Israel has also been forced to protect herself from these enemies and each time they have destroyed the military of these foreign nations. Also due to these middle east countries attacking Israel they have almost started a third WW. When they go crying to the USSR back in the day, because Israel beat the shit out of them.

Actually they didn't kidnap british soldiers. They got arrested for entering Iran without permission. Iran is not Iraq, as stated earlier. Differences are that Iran is bigger, it has more motivated army, everybody knew what weaponery Iraq had. Nobody really knows what Iran has, but it's definately more heavy than what Iraq had. You're right about that one, that if US would attack, it would do it by air, but after that war, i wouldn't expect gulf of Persia having US troops anymore. USA wouldn't be getting international support, and Israel isn't necessarily in a situation it could really start attacking, since Iran isn't the only neigbouring country that wants the jews out of middle-east. After all, the thing why Iran is in the axis of evil, is because they wanted to trade oil in Euros. Like Iraq.
