The ps3 is doing remarkably better this year.
I've been doing some maths, and it seems that the 360 has been selling about 20% better per week this year than it was last year. The ps3 is also selling about 30% better than the 360 week to week.
Using last year's 360 numbers (~8.2 mil. total), and assuming the ps3 sells at a similar rate throughout the year, rising and falling with the seasons just like normal, then the ps3 is on track to sell around 13 million this year, far above what I've predicted in the past couple of months.
Of course, the 360 recieved a considerable boost in the form of Halo in Q3 of last year, but the ps3 should recieve similar boosts throughout the year. Though smaller, they will be more numerous, and will take the form of games like MGS4 and GTAIV.
Edit: And by year I mean January 1 - December 31.
