What people are talking about here? Monster Hunter 4 was announced as a 3DS game even before Vita was released, and before 3DS started selling well.

It is just that Nintendo offered money/help/whatever for a very popular franchise and Capcom bit the bullet as Sony certainly offered nothing or much less than Nintendo. Knowing the strength of their franchise surely made Capcom not worry about the platform because they knew people would buy whatever console it was released in just to play it. If the 3DS version hadn't sold well, it shouldn't be so hard to port to another console or handheld.

There was no "betrayal/hate/conspiracy", neither "merit" on the system chosen for MH4, just a safe and profitable business decision.
