Hl2 should be #1 instead of #3, but I haven't played HL1 anyway so I can't really speak for its quality. Definitely one of my favourite FPS games. The story is actually memorable years later.

As much as I love HL2, the original still feels more envolving. I don't know, maybe it's because I had just finished GTA III before playing it, but HL2 felt a bit too episodic, more than the first one.

That's because they had Episode 1 and 2 ;o. 

I want to play HL1 when the Black Mesa mod has finally been completed 100%
