It's a 2D game in a pseudo-3D world, linear stage design, no true freedom of exploration (then again Galaxy didn't have this either... it was very linear save for a couple of "planets", but at least it wasn't a fixed perspective camera and you could actually roam around certain levels, even though there wasn't really much to discover.)

Banjo Kazooie + Tooie are still the gold standard for 3D platformers... nothing has been able to touch them since.
