My issue with Gabe is not tied to this video but is entirely based on the fact he is using unfounded anti Windows FUD to secretly drive his agenda which he never talks about. He is just worried that Microsoft is going to eat his lunch on the PC with a locked game store and ecosystem and that Apple/Android will do the same with mobile and Ouya like devices. If he just stated it like it is (and announced HL3 already) hed get much more respect from me. |
What's funny is that people using Steam have Windows 8 at a higher rate than the general public. It was about twice for a while, but not sure right now. He just doesn't seem to know his audience. If your customers prefer it, you should probably listen to that.
We already have a Linux gaming console, it's the Roku 3, and it includes motion gaming. That fact that most people don't know about it, and I have never seen anyone game on it, shows how well it is currently doing. http://www.roku.com/roku-products
I don't see many alternative other than for Steam to make their own console/Linux Steam Box. If they really want to change the OS game.
