If there was a way to power the Wii U via docking station/external power battery or whatever in a car so that you could play games on the gamepad like one would a handheld, that would drive sales... if this was a selling feature at launch and advertised as a potential option.
But at this late stage and given Nintendo likely never considered such, it would be wasted on the Wii U unless they had a killer app that made people want to bring their Wii U systems with them or pay who knows how much for a chargeable docking station/external power battery.
