I've checked your source and read it entirely and there's nothing specified about having bad sales. Problems with coordinations, but bad figures aren't anywhere to be seen. Lost Odyssey was one of the best-selling JRPGs - along with Blue Dragon - of the seventh gen, only behind Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles, speaking of exclusives (and maybe Xenoblade as well).
Cry On was a project of Mistwalker, without the help of Microsoft unlike BD and Lost Odyssey. Microsoft can't stop a project they don't own. The reasons of this cancelling was due to Mistwalker assimilation of the poor market conditions and the fact that they knew the game wasn't going to sell well. Check it here.

Oh 0_o I didn't know that cry on was funded by mistwalker and AQ interactive themselves but why is it a x360 excluseive ? (On another thought I have to possibly answer the question. I think it's Hironobu Sakaguchi distaste for ken kutaragi and sony go see this http://www.1up.com/news/hironobu-sakaguchi-doesn-ken-kutaragi)
