I don't care what digital foundry and such say, because they're usually wrong anyhow. When comparing console specs, the fact is that a lot of the stuff in there are just based upon different chips. So DF say that "this chip is better than the other" and such, but it all really depends upon what the console manufacturers are putting into it, and how the system works.

Most people are fairly able to say how powerful a system is by looking at how the best looking games looks on the systems. Also, people have different standars as to how they define good and bad. I personally think that there ain't much of a difference between Xbox One and PS4 because you can barely see a difference between multiplats, and exclusives look good on both of them, good enough for me to say that they are very similar.

While that is true, using launch titles to judge a consoles power is a very unreliable way of going about it. The PS3's launch titles looked pretty shitty, but it still ended up with a general advantage over the 360 in exclusives (though a disadvantaged in some multiplats, due to it's complicated architecture). A good recent example is the WiiU. It's been out almost a year and still doesn't have any games that look much better than PS360's games, despite it being more powerful. The advantages of a console aren't utilized properly until a few years down the line (Killzone: Shadow Fall having been made for a 4gb PS4 being a good example).

In all likeliness the PS4 will have a fairly visible advantage with exclusive graphics, but multi plats will probably be about the same. Not because there is no power difference, but because there is no financial bonus to making one version look better when it can be avoided.

The number of developers stating the PS4 is stronger is just too high for it to be blown off as insignificant. The only thing we don't know is how much of a difference will we see. Anything on that topic is speculation, and can't be stated as fact.
