I'll probably choose Fen and go with Squirtle. :/

You'll also be getting Torchic as a special event pokemon this year as well. So that is 3 fire starters lol

 

Anyways so far from what I planned my party is gonna be like

-Fennekin (????)
-Torchic (Blaziken)
-Squirtle or Bulbasaur (depending on what other plant/water pokemon are available in Y)

I'm going to trade for a good plant type early lol

As for Torchic :O I love fire Pokemon so much lol I'll add it to my team for sure. But I really wanted the mega Charizard. :/
