In between Jan and Aug the Wii U had nothing but pikmin at the end to keep sales strong. While the other consoles had tons of support. GC did not do very good without any 1st party either until august.
But with N64: Mario kart 64 and Star fox 64 Did better and it had more 1st party.
Wii: Wii, super paper mario, mario party, pokemon, metroid, more mario. Wii was the strongest and it also had the most 1st party fancy that? and it had shortages....
It appears to me that Nintendo has become to holiday focused. MS and Sony has been doing decently during the holidays so they have taken more mindshare from Nintendo.
