I agree with orniletter. The noise from vocal fans isn´t a guarantee for success, the most notable and recent example beeing PSV and also the likely even more niche PSV TV.
Sales have been on a decline in the US not only hardware but especially in the software department. This has mostly a lot to do with the rising popularity of f2p games on PC and the rising smartphone/tablet market which likely will lead to a more fragmented market overall. I expect a good start due to fans picking up the systems, because of letting themselves getting hyped but it will be interesting to see what happens after the early adopter phase.
